Every document you send goes through the same steps, whether it is a Letter of Intent, an Offer to Purchase, an NDA, a JV Agreement or your own PDF.
Why it matters
You see the document exactly as each signer will, before you send it. After you send it, you can follow who has signed, and you get the signed copy when everyone is done.
Steps
- Start the document. The Letter of Intent, the Offer to Purchase and the Partnership Letter of Intent start from buttons in the calculator. An NDA or any other saved document starts from Send for signature on its row, under Documents, then Templates.
- Fill in the boxes, then read "Check the pages before you send". A box left blank warns you that it will print as an empty line. You can fill it in or send as is.
- Under "Who signs", enter each signer's name and email. The list "Who signs, in this order" shows who signs first. Send stays off until they are in.
- Choose Send for signature. Each document you send costs 12 credits.
- Open Sent for signature to follow progress. Signature status is checked on a schedule, so it can lag a signature by a few minutes.
- When it says Signed by everyone, choose Download signed. You get a ZIP with the signed document, the Signing record and the Audit Trail. The Signing record is also a button on the row.
Good to know
- Sending a document is the step that uses credits.
- Your company signs first by default, then the other side.
