You can use your own contract. You upload the PDF, the app finds the signature and date lines for you, and you check them before saving.
Why it matters
You keep your own paper, and each signer is asked to sign only on the lines the app found for them.
Steps
- Open Documents, then Start a document. Find the section Use your own PDF.
- Under "What this document is", choose the type: Company document (for example an NDA), Letter of Intent, Offer to Purchase, JV Agreement or Partnership LOI.
- After you pick a type, a title box appears. Type a title in it. Under the box, the hint says "Name this document first: that name is how you'll find it later."
- Choose a PDF. This step is free. The app reads the pages.
- Type "Name recipients see". It heads the signing email and the signing page, and it can be up to 80 characters. A counter appears at 70. If you leave it blank, recipients see "Document".
- Under "Who signs, by default", choose Signs or Gets a copy for each person the app found. Under "Who signs first?", choose the order.
- On "Check the pages before you save", look at every page. Signature and date lines for your company are blue, and the other side's are green. Yellow boxes are filled in by whoever sends the document.
- Choose Save for the company.
- When you are ready, choose Send for signature. It costs 12 credits.
- When it says Signed by everyone, choose Download signed. You get a ZIP with the signed document, the Signing record and the Audit Trail.
Good to know
- You can't add, move or remove a signature spot or a person in the app. Where each person signs comes from your PDF. If a line is missing or one shouldn't be there, fix the PDF and upload it again, or use Replace PDF on a saved document.
- Scanned pages are not supported yet. If the PDF has no readable text, you will see "This PDF has no readable text. Upload the digital copy, or save your Word file as PDF."
- Use Replace PDF when only the paper changed. The setup is kept.
- A title that already ends in .pdf downloads with a single .pdf.
